Welcome to 2012! All of us set goals to get our personal finances in order, whether that means to save more, reduce our debt, or plan for the future. Then February comes around and our intentions start to falter. By the end of the year, we are still in the same financial place as when we started the year. Then, we make the same vow next year, but nothing seems to improve.
I know how hard it can be to face your finances. Trust me; I have hidden from my finances hoping that by ignoring them they would somehow get better all without me lifting a finger. I finally had to realize that wasn’t going to happen if I kept ignoring the reality. I had to face my finances head on, come up with a plan and then take action steps to accomplish it. I understand this can be a difficult step to take. With guidance and support, you can move forward with your finances too.
No matter how short or long your road, improvements will only start if you take action. Congratulate yourself for taking the first step by reading this page!

In this program, I will cover these topics:
Where is your money going? You need to find out. Don’t worry, I’m not going to use the word “budget”. I will call it a spending plan, because that’s what it is: a plan that you create. For me, changing that word has made a huge difference. It doesn’t feel that restrictive. I am in control of my finances and I will make the choices that are right for me. You can do this, too.
Where do you find the money to make changes so you can have more fun, pay off debt, save for retirement or your children’s education? We all need (or want) more money in our lives. Did you ever get an increase in your salary only to wonder where that extra money went? The more we make the more we spend on everything… unless we make choices. That is why it’s so important to really focus on your financial goals and make an action plan so you can achieve them.
Are you afraid to find out what your credit score is? Especially now that there is a TV commercial showing you three men with three different scores. Confusing, right? The commercial claims they can help you for a fee. I can show you how to do this without a fee.
Do you ever wonder what your credit report says about your finances? A credit report is a financial snapshot of your life at that particular moment in time. Wouldn’t you want to know what loan officers, employers, and landlords are seeing about you? Better yet, wouldn’t you want to see it and alter it before you need that all important loan or job offer?
Are you wasting your precious time looking for a piece of paper when you have no time? Maybe you have piles of paper sitting out that bother you each time you enter your bill paying space. I have found an organizing method that works for me. I’m happy to share my method so you can organize all that paper in your life.
- Many of my clients have more bills than money at the end of the month.
- Some feel that they have to rob Peter to pay Paul for those unexpected expenses that come up.
- Others are putting off their dreams until sometime in the future. That future may never arrive.
- Are you wasting your hard earned money on things you shouldn’t have to pay for, or services that could be cheaper?
Do you want to make changes but don’t have a moment of time to spare?
We start out the year with good intentions. Then life happens and all our good intentions go out the door. But what if this year could be different?

Those of you who have read my first book, Cash, Credit and Your Finances: The Teen Years know that I had a tremendous amount of credit card debt earlier in my life. I was able to pay that off and change my finances.
Over the years, I have dealt with debt, just like you: waking up at 2 am with fear that I couldn’t pay my bills. I had to work part time jobs at times to make ends meet. I had to make payment arrangements with creditors to get the bills paid. It even got so bad that I once consulted a bankruptcy attorney.
Then I had an “aha” moment. I knew I needed to make changes to my finances. I needed to get organized and see how much money was coming in and how much was going out each month. I resisted at first, but in my head I knew I need to do it. I had to be clear on where I stood financially so that I could take back my future. Finding out the truth was the only way I could get make a plan to get out of debt and start to save for my goals.
I will show you the steps that I made to make changes in my financial life. These are steps that I still follow today. Yes, I still track my spending and make adjustments several times throughout the year.
